Bo Wood Campground, IL After passing thru entry station, you will see ‘area 2’-and the facilities for those loops are right in front of you. At the one end of the building are 4 individual, lockable shower rooms. Incredibly clean & really nice. Going around the building ( either way) you have two restrooms, handicapped accessible. Then, at the other end of the building are 2 laundry rooms. Each has 1 washer for $1.75 a load and a dryer for $1.00 a load Forrest W. Excellent BUT if you are staying in the fall and your site has oak trees, try to put your unit under possible tree openings. Acorns fell often and when sleeping it may wake you and when walking you can hear people reacting. Sites are very wide and deep and well kept. Amenities were clean.

Very clean park. Bathrooms are decent and well maintained. Connie at the office couldn't be more helpful, we enjoyed talking to her. Love camping here will do again if we are able.

The camp site driveway was very long and wide. It was easy to back into the site since there were no trees along the driveway. It was perfect for fall and we didnt have to worry about debris, leaves or acorns falling on our camper. We had the sun on the backside of our RV and were in the shade on the entryway side all day long. The campground and facilities were very clean and well kept. While in the area, we made a trip to Springfield to the Lincoln Museum, which was incredible and very well done. We also took a trip to the Johnson Goat Tower Farm, which was very unique and the owners were so friendly and welcoming. We even spent time petting a beautiful goat, Bella, who loved the attention. Another point of interest was the dam and the Corps of Engineers facility. We had hoped to rent a boat and go out on the lake, but it was very windy and got rather chilly while we were there. It was a fun camping experience and a very nice campground.

We loved this campground, and really liked the quiet of this small loop. 2 things that could be worked around are 1) no soap in any restrooms, so bring your own. and 2) laundry was 1 washer and 1 dryer in each laundry room. From site 8 we were able to fill our fresh water tank with a long hose, without moving the RV.

Bo Woods is our favorite campground. The sites are well maintained and most of them are very spacious. We love having our grandchildren stay with us and they enjoy the playground and theres also a large grassy area in the center of our favorite camping spot where they can run and play and be safe from traffic. Theres a town close by to pick up any forgotten items and you can also get a pizza delivered if you are so inclined. Weve been going there for three years now and weve always had a great time. We highly recommend it!

The website reservations only show 16 sites available for sewer hookup. After driving around facility, realized there are more than 16 sites with sewer available. Went to office to see if they had an updated map which they did provide us outlining all the full hookups. Wish the website was up to date which would have prevented us from having to move sites mid-week so we would remain on full hookup. Sites listed on map where available for the full week we where there. This also caused us having to pay additional for both sites for one night. This was a working trip so we could not be back prior to the 4pm check-out so to move sites at 5:30 pm we had to pay for both sites. Please update the website to reflect the correct hookup options.

We love Bo Wood and camp here a couple times per year. The campground is well kept, and the staff is pleasant. Site 7 had a nice view of the water and was level. There is a path down to the water, but it is a bit steep. This loop was super quiet, with a clean bathroom. We filled our fresh tank up at spigot by site 8 and it had great pressure, actually turned it down a turn. I wish there was a wider shoulder on route 32 since we are cyclists. There is no way to access the quieter country roads without riding at least a mile along this busy route heading north toward Sullivan. We use blinking taillights and stay as close to the edge as possible.

Second visit to park, Very clean with some of the longest and widest spots we have seen. Not real busy during the week. There is boat rentals available. A little pricey.
