Great autumnal leaves, pelicans out in the lake, and hot showers - all these things made it a really nice place to stay. Thanks for keeping this campground well kept.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gun Creek. I had originally reserved site #28 in the Nighthawk loop since it was waterfront, but this site had a severe slope toward the lake, and even in our small class B with a 14-foot wheelbase, we were unable to level safely. We noted that many of the waterfront campsites in the Nighthawk loop were similarly sloped, so be careful when reserving. Due to the excessive slope, we moved campsites to #73 in the Eagle loop, at which time our enjoyment of Gun Creek began. The modern facilities were all clean and well stocked. The grounds are maintained to a high standard and the staff were all friendly helpful. We caught several catfish, some bluegill and a pair of nice bass while fishing from the shoreline. We did observe quite a few snakes in the water near the shore, which we believe to be non-venomous northern water snakes. Our stay was during the week and prior to Memorial Day, so we saw mostly adults and adult couples in the campground, hardly any families with children. This campground is within easy walking distance of the Rend Lake Golf Course which offers a full service restaurant if you want to take a break from gilling. We found AT&T cell service to be strong and reliable in the campground recording a download rate of 15Mbps. Verizon was slower and less reliable at Gun Creek with download speeds of only 3 - 4 Mbps.

Campsites are always neat & clean. Bath house is convenient. Great access to Lake and areas around
