It was nice until our neighbors next to us started having a party and we have a 15-year-old special-needs boy with us and one of their party members were smoking marijuana you could tell and it was coming into our windows so we had to shut our windows and you could smell it still in our camper

There was no adherence to the speed limit with trucks pulling campers or cars speeding through the campground which is very unsafe for walkers and kids on bikes. Also many campers kept lights on all night. Our neighbor brought a street lamp and the light was so bright in our windows it was difficult to sleep. He also cut through the back of my camper to his friend on the other side which invaded my privacy when he walked by my bedroom window. There are three campground hosts which are pretty much non existent through the day. We went to report finding a lost toddler and non of the campground hosts answered their doors before locating the childs mother. The campground is very beautiful and well kept and the nicest in Southern Illinois but it does have safety issues.

We were just passing through and could only stay 1 night but it was great. We got setup just before sunset and the pelicans were flying in and landing right in front of us. We sat out by the water and watched a great show put on by Mother Nature. The slab had a bit more slope than my limited blocking could overcome but not enough to keep us from being comfortable.

We stopped for one night on our vacation. It is a beautiful campground close to the lake. The restrooms were spotless. I would say the cleanest I've ever seen in a campground.

Just a short distance to Rend Lake and nice spaces. Bring ear plugs for the almost constant dog barks.

Gun creek is a gorgeous campground on Rend Lake. If you are able to book it, site 27 has the best views of the lake with full hookups.

The host is very helpful and friendly. The sites are clean and well maintained. A very good place to ride bikes.

Gun Creek Campground is one of the nicest campgrounds we have visited and we have visited many. The rest rooms are always clean, the park employees are always the greatest. I just wish there there were more full service sites but we will be back. I would recommend this campground to anyone.
