We camp here very often at least once a month since we are local and its a nice place to camp. We where so excited to get out and go camping from being cooped up inside all winter! And we where they first campers in the place, but when we got to our site I guess they either had to cut down a tree or it fell. And our site was still covered in tree debris. We picked up and picked up sticks for hours! It was hard to even walk around and set up, it was on both sides of the camper! I don't know how they would even cut the grass around the area. I was even tempted to go buy a rake to get it cleaned up enough. The only good that came out of it was we didn't have a problem getting our fires started! I know this is just petty but it was just a little aggravating! We still had a good weekend!

would like to see more full hookups in the park. we had good cel signal. lots of places close by to eat

Excellent stopping point right off I-57. Far enough from interstate that road noise is not an issue.

Gun Creek is well kept, clean and one of our favorite camp grounds.

Our experience was very good except for the camp site. We were in a grove of 11 Persimmon trees that were dead ripe. It's hard to explain, but the ripe fruits were all over the ground and on our camping rug. I had to throw it away, also we got the mess in the camper no matter how hard we tried to avoid the mess. I would kindly suggest cutting down those messy trees and replacing them with something more suitable for a camp site. Yes, I'll be back, loved Gun Creek, just not that site!

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Gun Creek. The last time was 5 or 6 years ago and the park has greatly improved. Easy in and out and lots of room.

Great place for overnight or weekend. Full hookups, flat sites clean has public bathroom with clean showers and toilets.
