Some highway noise and our campsite had been dropping persimmons, so a little messy.

Beautiful campground! We were right on the water. Wild turkeys and groundhog showed up in our site. It was so quiet and peaceful. Huge site, very well maintained.

Outside of the over-cleaning of the camp bathrooms that made my eyes sting, outside, the campground was fabulous!

A good site with a great view of the lake. Gun Creek is a great Corp campground for a quiet stay. The one issue is the persimmon trees on the site. Campers in the fall will have to deal with fruit on the ground.

The spot was very nice but the Persimmons on the ground were a total mess. I love Persimmons but they need to cut that tree down because it makes a huge mess. They get all in your RV and stuck to your shoes. The grass was very tall and considering the campground was PACKED it should have been mowed. Otherwise very nice quiet site.

Although we only spent one overnight here it was an enough to make us plan a return. The gate attendant was friendly and welcoming. The site was well kept and had a view of the lake. There were patrols which gave a sense of security.

My favorite Rend Lake campground is Gun creek. Its quiet and grounds are well maintained.

Unusual check-in/check-out times. Had to chase down lady for tag to go on pole and never caught her. Park ranger had to bring to us after we had already set up. He seemed a little upset with us. Showers were great, lot was great, and view was amazing!! Very clean!

Gun Creek is a really nice campground with lot of space between sites. There are trails near it and golf course with restaurant. Sites are pretty good and they describe how level they are in the description. I stay on #49 and while it was list as level, I still had to do a little leveling. Host was fine and they did check on you. I ride my trike and there is plenty of safe riding in the area.

We stayed the 1st week of October 2020. Site #49 is awesome. Excellent views. Driveway long and fairly flat. The only problem we experienced was there are two persimmon trees that were dropping ripe persimmons all over the place. No matter how careful we were, we couldn't help tracking some of them into our camper after unknowingly stepping on them outside. If you are camping earler in the season this wouldn't be an issue. Also, the fire ring is a little bit too close to site #50. Had a neighbor roll in one evening and he had a slide out on our side near the fire ring. He saw my firewood piled up and knew I planned to have a fire and mentioned his site was a little narrow but didn't even try to move his camper up or over to avoid the fire ring. We went ahead and had a fire without any problems but if I was on site 50 I would have pulled up 10 or 15 feet because I have a slide on that side of my camper as well. Overall, we had a blast. Rented a pontoon from Rend Lake Marina one day and it was awesome and well worth it.

The facilities at Gun Creek were really very impressive. We have a 35 foot Class A coach and were parked in a site right next to the lake. Although there are sites with FHU and 50 amps, we picked a site that only provided 50 amp service with no other. We were towing a vehicle and they had a spot near the dump station that allowed easy unhook - most sites are back in. The grounds are well groomed and the sites are spacious. The only word of caution is that some of the sites are not level enough for a coach. Specific site recommendations that are level next to the lake (electric only): 049 050 024 and 25. Suggest staying away from 027 - too steep. Overall, a great place at a fantastic price. We would come back!

We have fallen in love with the lake. We try and get lot 49 because it gives the view of the lake that we enjoy greatly. The park employees have always been very pleasant and its only 2 hrs from our home. The antique shops in the area are great, There is a Walmart close. Always enjoyable.
