Beautiful campground with nice shade, full hookup and lots of wildlife that could be seen in mornings and evenings from campsite. The areas public areas were clean and well maintained.

Gun Creek is a beautiful place to camp at Rend Lake, IL.We enjoy fall camping so it's the perfect place to go in November.

Great place to camp, we just had our 38th deer camp there, a far cry from its humble beginning! Thanks for a wonderful experience U.S. Army Corps of Engineers!

This is a nice campground, but there were several negatives concerning our site. We were in site 18. First, the positives. This site is a full hookup site with water and sewer. There are only a few full hookup sites in the park. There is a golf course with a restaurant in close proximity. A local winery is only a couple of miles away. They have a tasting room, and food trucks that come in on Sunday afternoons where you can also listen to live music. Now the negatives. The gnats and mosquitos were horrible. You could hardly breathe without a mask to keep them out of your body. They would swam inside when we opened the door. We bought some tiki torches which helped a little, but not a lot. The picnic table and fire ring were behind the coach, and we had very little patio area. The camper on our patio side was extremely close. The trees around our campsite had some kind of parasite which formed golf ball sized fungus nodules on stems which covered the patio, and dropped down on the roof of the RV. And possibly because of the large gnat population, we had a huge herd of spiders that built webs all over our RV. We parked the coach near enough to the patio side of the asphalt parking pad so that the steps hung past the edge, and used our portable step to overcome the drop down. We did not use the restrooms or shower facilities. We did notice that many of the other sites, particularly the ones with waterfront access, were extremely slanted and unlevel. We saw some travel trailers with the hitch almost on the ground, and the rear stabilizers on blocks. If you stay here, take time to drive a few miles north to Burton's restaurant. They have great food, and are famous for their white pie, which is kind of like a light custard. I would give it a rating of 4 yummies. We had decent wifi connection with our Verizon hotspot. Cell phone signal over AT&T was spotty, and we had to drive over to the golf course to get a good enough signal to make phone calls.

This is a very quiet and clean park. There are several things to do here at the lake. There is fishing , boating, and there is also a beach.

The site was awesome! Level and full hookups, I liked how one side was very private and even on the opposite side there was privacy. The only things I was not crazy about was the picnic table and fire ring, its down from the lot and if its wet out plan to have muddy shoes to get to it, it is tucked low and behind the trees if you like not being seen. Super clean bathrooms directly in front of this site! Great views of the lake. All in all, I would book this site again!

Gun Creek is a very well maintained campground. It's clean, the bathrooms are always clean. The sites are big and can accommodate almost any size camper.

Stayed here for a couple of days while road tripping across the country. This was a beautiful campsite with freshly clean facilities! Would love to stay here again when we road trip again!

The sites are very nice and most of the pads are level. The only bad thing is they have restricted parking you boats at your campsite.
