Pretty spacious campground. Family friendly, but was still quiet and relaxing. Love Dam West.

It would be nice to have several benches at the playground for people to sit on and watch while the children play.

Dam West is a great campground near Carlyle, IL. We have been camping here for many years at different times of the year. The bath houses are kept immaculately and the laundry room is air conditioned in the summer. Most, if not all, campers are respectful of others including noise control, dogs on leashes, and kids under parents' supervision. The town offers a WalMart less than one mile away along with gas stations, farm store, and fast food. The Rangers make routine inspection rides around the campgrounds and they are available for any problems.

the host on my check in were outstanding. super friendly and helpful. i asked to c if there was a full hook up and she said let me check and there was and did all the changing for NO hassle.

We were new to COE campgrounds and were very pleased with our time there. The sites are spacious and well kept. We loved the bike path accessible from the campground as well.

We always enjoy our time at Dam West we were concerned to hear that in the future the campground may become reservation only. We are very concerned about this as we enjoy coming when we get some free time on short notice and with reservation only for all sites this would limit our ability to camp on short notice. We strongly feel that at least some of the camp site should remain first come which allows those "passing through" to enjoy the campground and those of us who can't plan ahead 6 months to camp. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. We hope to continue to camp at Dam West at Carlyle

We loved the grounds a everything is well kept. Lake beach is great. We will be back next year for sure.
