Nice and quiet campground. A lot of the sites have good views of the water. The play ground needs a few more swings and slides and you need to add a few benches for parents to relax on.

Love Dam West campground! Host Al, Carol, Eric and Wendy are the best! Always quiet and clean with stocked bathrooms and bath areas. Bike riding over the dam and down the river, across the bridge and either into town or backdown the river in the other side and back into the park area is one of our favorite activities! Thank you for a great place to camp! Deb

We had site 90 FHU. It was a little hard to get into with our 34 ft 5er. The road was narrow, the entry was 90 degrees and a dumpster parked acrossed the street. The asphalt drive was crumbled and narrow. Mud after a rain. The upside was well spaced almost level spot with a lot of afternoon shade. Met some nice people. It was a relaxing week.

I have been camping at Dam West Campground since the 1970s and have never had a bad experience. The grounds have always been well maintained and the hosts & guests have always been friendly. The only problem is, it has been very difficult to get reservations.

We like Dam West for the location and quiet camping. It is well kept and easy to maneuver in and out of the spots.

Overall we enjoyed our camping at Dam West but the site we were on (#90) is dangerous. The shape of the campsite is very unusual and the wooden border used to contain the gravel pad is at odd angles, and caused the 5 people in our group to often trip when walking, our accessing the camping trailer. And the heavy rain during our stay caused the driveway access to #90 to remain flooded worse that any other camp site.

We all love Damn West campground one of our favorite campgrounds at Carlyle Lake.The facilities are super clean the campground hots(Allen and his wife)are very professional and exceptionally courteous hosts.The only disadvantage of this campground is its very hard to book a site because of its popularity so plan ahead.
