What a great place! We stayed in site #5 and thought that it was just perfect: clean, secure. and convenient to the lake. Typical of COE campgrounds, everything was laid out well with excellent facilities.

We camp at Boulder 10-15 times a year. This trip was in the full hookup loop which is usually a really quiet and reserved crowd. NOT THIS TRIP!! While setting up our neighbors dog was running on our property. Youre supposed to have any dog on a leash while on Corps ground. I told them that we had a dog (who was restrained properly) and I didnt appreciate that theirs wasnt. Later in the trip my buddys son was chasing a frog behind our camper and that dog still not restrained felt threatened enough to coming charging into our site and almost bit the boy. Rangers were called. They need to enforce the dogs being restrained as much as they do parking on the grass. This is our 3rd incident with an unrestrained dog. Our dog was bit by a Great Dane while walking on the road that was unrestrained in a campsite. On to the second problem. Our other neighbors in this loop were tent campers. There isnt a good space in the loop to tent camp so they put 4 tents and countless yard games directly in front of our camper. We had no grass for our dog or anything other activity. The had 4 cars, a boat and 8 adults plus children. Im thinking that exceeds the maximum. Usually youre looking at the back of a camper there no big deal but I felt our privacy and theres was gone. Especially that we couldnt use all of the site we payed for. I personally think there should be no tent camping allowed in the full hookup loop. That should be for campers and RVs only. Rough trip and the rules need to be enforced by the Corps of engineers.

This was the perfect setting for resetting my trip after havin my transmission replaced. Full hookups! I was able to clean my tanks and clean the inside of my van and do laundry while listening to this very vocal great blue heron and watching the sailboats rock in the marina.
