When I drove in, I knew we had chosen the perfect place. Surrounded by nature, regrets, and herons hunting. It was beautiful. The paved sites made it easy to set up. It was quite windy during our stay and chilly. I joked the the one liner review would request they turn down the wind. But, be prepared for a breeze. Make sure canopies are tied and weighted. There's a bike path at the beginning of the campground and it goes through a prairie that was just starting to bloom. It's going to be gorgeous at the end of June through August or September. There are Sandhil Cranes, nesting Bald Eagles, frogs, turtles and snakes. Many of the other campers we met, come here often. I can see why. It's peaceful and immersed in nature. Pull up a comfy chair and just enjoy nature. The bathrooms are in good condition.

Love the bike trails , been going there since I was a kid Im now 62 . Only problem we had was something biting (bugs) us in and around the picnic table

Electric went out 1 day and water the next. Both were taken care of right away. We were notified about electric but not the water but we managed

Midweek stay was great. Very quiet and restful, easy ride to diners and the new casino.

This is our new favorite campground! Beautiful scenery, well maintained facilities, lots of wildlife, and plenty of places to walk or ride our bikes. We met many friendly people who were also camping there and just had a wonderful, relaxing time! We also traveled to the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque, Iowa as well as went shopping in historic Galena, IL and toured Ulysses Grants’s home there. Other fun and interesting places we visited include Savanna, IL, Fulton, IL, fishing at Lock and Dam 13, and site seeing in Clinton, Iowa. There are many things to do that are just a short drive away.

We enjoyed our stay. We have a 25' class A and our pull thru site was perfect. The price was good for what we got. Neat and clean. Only offered electric hook up (I think) but water was convenient had we needed to fill again (found lots of fresh water spigots thru out area). Bathroom was clean. Fishing was good. Big dump area looks like 4 or more rigs could pull in depending on size and they also had portable dump station spots if you didn't want to go back to the big dump area never saw that before.
