View was spectacular. The proximity for facilities was disappointing, but the cleanliness was even worse. The number of showers per campsite was very low too. Inconsistent enforcing of powered vehicles by different personnel. Limited play area for kids. Campers walked through your campsite without a care. Very different experience than our family is used to. If we come back it would be for the view, not any type of amenity offered.

we have been coming back to this same site for 6 or 7 years now. I don't think we will be back again. The site has lost it's shade, that happens, but the addition of the light over the parking area is a deal breaker. It is SUPER BRIGHT, hard to tell if its day or night, hard to sleep . I realize some light for security might be necessary but this was lit up like a prison yard. In fact maybe that's where they got the light from. If it has to be there put it on a timer or dimmer to go off or down during the quiet hours. The tent campers I talked to were also complaining about the light. The showers don't drain well and there were dead bugs on the shower floor. The host at the check in was friendly as usual and the view from our site was great, but the light ruins a good spot

Our first time at Thomson Causeway. We spent the last week of the 24 season in site 114. Stunning location. Very pleasantly surprised to fine water at each site. Most sites were well spaced. Paved roads with level concrete pads. Restroom's were clean and supplied. Close proximity(~20 min) to Clinton IA for whatever you need. Verizon coverage was sufficient. Well be back!!

Mid week. we got a site right on the river. Was able to pick the site in person and pay for it right there on my phone. Went to gate house when it opened and picked up the paper to put on the site post. Very convenient.Campground is well cared for and has beautiful views. Being right on the river, bugs are bad sometimes, not bad other times. That's nature. Lots of flowers and wildlife to view. Railroad is far enough away that train noises were not obnoxious, as they sometimes are at Mississippi river campgrounds.Only downside to the campground is that some sites are too close together.

Our stay at Thomson Causeway is always excellent! We love the blacktopped roads, plentiful shower houses, available firewood, and friendly campers. The grounds are always well attended and clean. Highly recommend this gem of a campground.

We had the perfect site just a few feet from the Mississippi River. My wife had never seen a functional lock, so we we able to see a barge go through just a few miles up the road. The park was quiet clean. Out of the way but close enough to town to restock essentials.

Please change your check out time to 1:00. 4:00 is WAY to late. Talked to many campers and 95% also wished it was earlier. Seen MANY campers sitting and waiting for their spot to open up. 4:00 is to late to start setting camp up after you have paid for that spot..thank you. Again, please consider this, as we LOVE THOMPSON CAUSEWAY!

Well kept sites. Very good bike trail to the south - not so much riding the roads to the north. Enjoyed riding bikes to town for a snack at Bear's Drive-In. Also a nice ride to Fulton with lunch on their dike overlooking the river.
