Enjoy the campground and hosts. Well maintained and like the group spots. Was little shocked on the rate increase from last year, but guess that's going on everywhere. Thanks!

Make sure to spend some time wading in the river. Sitting a folding chair in the river is also very enjoyable.First week of August, the River was a bit low to raft from the bridge back to the campground without a fair amount of paddling in the last half of the run. July would be better. Camp hosts were very helpful and friendly.

This is a beautiful campground located right on the St. Joe river. The sites are spacious and well spaced-out. The campground hosts were very friendly and did a great job keeping the bathrooms clean and emptying the trash cans that were conveniently located throughout the grounds. The nearby highway is a little noisy at night, with logging trucks passing by. We ventured up to the town of Avery, perhaps 15 miles up the road, where the fly shop had excellent sandwiches and ice cream for lunch, in addition to good fishing advice. We are already planning a return trip!

The sites sit along the river so are great for fishing. The campground is extremely remote if you are interested in going into town. Couer d'Alane is 60-80 miles from the campground.

Great campground. Superb facilities, location for fishing, and the camp hosts are top notch. Come here every September for great fly fishing on the St. Joe River.

Love this campground! It fills quickly, so make sure you get a reservation. The camp hosts are very friendly and helpful and they work hard to make camping here an excellent experience. The campground is well maintained and family friendly. Kids love riding bikes and skateboards here. Make sure to bring a hummingbird feeder! We put one up and had at least 5 different hummers (1 Rufus, 1 Black Chinned, and 3 Caliopes who fought over the perches). We also love hearing the birds sing here! I would have given the campground a 5 star, but on our last trip here, someone who runs the campgrounds decided that dead wood near the paved access road needed to be chipped and shredded and spread throughout the campsite. Not only was this LOUD (for several hours), but seemed stupid. The workers (who were nice enough, they were just doing what they were told) said they had been told to do it to reduce fire hazards. This is ridiculous. All they did is put the wood back out into the forest and get rid of wood campers could use for their camp fires. If they really wanted to eliminate deadwood, they should gather it and encourage campers to use it in their fire pits. Or, encourage campers to gather deadwood on their own. But, other than the obnoxious noise of the Chipper/Shredder, we had a wonderful stay.
