Enjoy the campground and hosts. Well maintained and like the group spots. Was little shocked on the rate increase from last year, but guess that's going on everywhere.Thanks!

My family and I booked a four night stay at Huckleberry in August and I had all intentions of walking trails, going to TFP's in Avery or spending time elsewhere but what I ended up doing was enjoying the river right from our campsite the entire time! Kids caught frogs and jumped off the rocks on the other side of the river while I enjoyed the grassy hill and painting rocks around the campfire. Spot so good you don't need to go anywhere else! Will return for sure.

Campground is very clean. Sites have green grass and are well trimmed. Hosts show much pride in their facility. Campground advertises Wi-Fi but it only works on either end.

This is a great place to camp! There are logging trucks every morning during the week and they start early. That said, it is beautiful, it is usually quiet, there are huckleberries in late summer, and the river is a good float, though I recommend taking along an extra tube so that if you, like me, get stuck on a rock and rip yours apart, you will get to tube the rest of the river in the extra one rather than riding in someone elses floating cooler! Inflatable kayaks seemed to do the best, but those had to be dragged cross rocks a few times too.

Our camping experience earned a solid four stars. The area is beautiful, the river is refreshing, and it was a great time. However, we were also promptly met by Jerry (the camp host) and given a rundown of the campground rules. We had a large crowd and multiple small children. On the fourth night, Jerry instructed us to move our small gas fire pit from the gravel parking lot to fire rings provided. This request seemed impractical; the pit provided is very close to trees and the space was limited, leaving little room for everyone to comfortably gather. In addition, we were unable to see the littles riding their bikes around the loop. The logic behind this move was unclear (especially with the fire danger) as it was not a problem for the first 3 nights. We tried to reason that we were within our campsite and a large gravel area, but there was no leeway. There was old wood in the provided fire pits and we were told to clean it out ourselves to make room for the gas pit. The shifting requirements felt a bit excessive.I would like to suggest that the fire rings be moved away from the trees, so that a family can fit around the fire pit without sitting in the long grass behind it. Overall, the area is beautiful and we had a nice stay.

First the price went up 300 percent. Then when we pulled in to the campground the camp host started being rude and laying down the law. We have been coming to this campground for many years and we were never treated like we were this year. We will not be camping there again. There are plenty of free camping spots on Forest Service Federal land.

Great spot right off the rest area. Site was only slightly off level but easily fixed by moving around a bit. Camp host attentive

The only draw back was being close to the highway when logging trucks were very early and woke us up. But other than that it was a very great place to stay.

Loved the location and the fact that there was a river right in the campground was extra cool. The grounds were very well kept clean. The only negative was at around 5 AM the logging trucks start coming by and the campground is right along the highway. Worth it though.

The campground is right beside the road and can be noisy when logging truck drivers use their Jake brake. Helpful camp host.

The campground is beautiful! The bathrooms are pristine. The staff is friendly, helpful, thoughtful and professional. I can't say enough good things about Huckleberry except I wish there were more spots so we could go more often.! Will be going there for years to come.

Nice camp spot, clean, very private spots, right near river

Can't park both our vehicles in our reserved spots. Am handicapped. Can't park off the pavement. Need to make pavement big enough to accommodate at least 2 vehicles. Campers have to abide by the restrictions, so why is the host parked off pavement and has stuff parked on the grass?
@JuliaRonGCBF43 · Camped on Jun 30, 2025 at Campsite #1
The online reservation system is confusing. Nowhere on the board did it show where to go online for the reservation process. Thankfully the host helped us.

The camp hosts were so good at keeping everything spotless.
@LauraW5748533 · Camped on Jun 26, 2025 at Campsite #31
The hosts were amazing and the campground was great! Bathrooms were very clean and all the sites are nice. Definitely coming back. The only downside is if you're there during the week, the logging trucks do run up and down the main road quiet frequently.
@MichaelH990269 · Camped on Jun 25, 2025 at Campsite #2
All was well except: It seems absurd to charge a $15 fee per day for electricity. Seems quite excessive. It seems like a work-around to circumvent those who purchased federal passes under the impression that they would pay only 50% of camp fee. I suppose I should expect such a move from federal bureaucracy.

What a pleasure to stay here. Campground very well kept and serviced. All the accommodations to expect with exception of showers so river front site recommended. Definitely stay again and located conveniently to drive 20 minutes to Avery.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
