Our stay at Kit Price was very good. Campground hosts were attentive and friendly. Facilities were very clean as was the overall campground. What costs the campground a 5th star is the overall lack of shade. While that may not seem fair (the campground used to have a lot of trees but many had to be removed a few years ago due to being dead, diseased or dangerous), it is part of the experience. Unfortunately, it's going to take a more robust tree-planting program than what is seen so far to restore this campground to its former condition. Even then, we're probably talking a good 20 years.

Kit Price is a great campground and the hosts are fantastic. The bathrooms/vault toilets are always clean. We go here a few times every summer for the excellent river access. That said, our neighbors on the last trip packed it up and hit the road early because chipmunks had taken over the trucks engine compartment. That evening when we returned from Thompson Falls the chipmunks immediately moved into our trucks engine compartment. We tried everything but we couldn't get them to stay out of the truck. They were clearly use to campers and were fearless. We packed it up that evening and left a day early too. Unfortunately, when we got home we had 5 hitchhikers (who thankfully survived the drive unscathed). We successfully live trapped all 5 and relocated them to the forest of CDA. We are going back in a few weeks but plan to take many bars of Irish Spring and dryer sheets just in case Not sure what the answer is but we have noticed a huge increase in chipmunks and squirrels up there this year.

It was a nice campground with CLEAN toilets and sites. There were trees, people make it sound like there were none but there were. The only bad thing was, there was water, but it didn't have a spigot just a un-hookup-able line out. So we couldn't put water in the holding tank of the trailer. Ill come back. There was ways to get to the water that were part of the site so people who say you cant get to the water without walking through other sites are incorrect. Theres a little and its little but accessible, beach.

Wonderful Stay

The campgrounds are pretty but severely overgrown. Paths to the water are hard to access and bugs/mosquitos were bad to to the height and density of the foliage. The camp host was friendly, however quiet times were not enforced. Many of the tent areas were uneven and small due to the overgrowth. I would enjoy going here more often if grounds were kept up.

Weve been camping here for many years and have always enjoyed our stays. However, this year we had two concerns. First, both of our neighboring campsites ran their generators continuously, day and night, which made things quite noisy. Second, we noticed snakes around the campgroundsomething we havent experienced before. We counted at least 20 snakes in and around our campsite during the day, both on land and in the water.

Dan and Sandy are the BEST campground hosts. They make it worth going even though you destroyed the once beautiful treed settings.

Site 52 is a nice pull through site, close to the vault toilet and the water spicket and a short walk through the site to the river. This site is in full sun until the very end of the day but there are trees on the east and north side. The hosts take good care of the campground and are very helpful. They listen to concerns and resolve any situations accordingly. There is nor cell coverage unless you have Starlink and a generator.

Great location. Well maintained. Fire pit could be a little farther from table

Nice place to camp. River right by the campground and mountains all around to ride. Watch out for rude out of state people who completely disrespect the area and folks around them. When you come from out of state to recreate here leave your electronics at home and be here to enjoy nature. NO ONE wants to listen to your generator running all day and night so you and your children can be entertained with electronics. Have a shred of respect for the other campers.

This is always one of our favorite campgrounds on the North Fork of the Coeur dAlene river. Its always very well taken care of and usually pretty quiet.

Because it was so early in the season (first week, prior to Memorial Day), the campground was not crowded at all. Our site (C52) was clean and in good shape. Restroom facilities were also extremely clean.

Very nice campground, especially the campsite where we stayed with river access and a large wood pavilion over the table area (roughly 1/2 of the Kit Price campsites have them). The pavilions are well-built, and serve as protection from both sun and rain. I wish other campgrounds had them!Kit Price is comprised of 3 loops of campsites. The A loop is heavily wooded and had no pavilions. The B loop (where we stayed) was mostly stumps and shrubs between campsites and many of the sites had the pavilions. The C loop is the best of both worlds, where half is wooded and the other half stumps and weeds and only 4 sites with pavilions. The best river access is in the C loop.Our campsite was not cleaned after the previous campers, as evidenced by water bottles full of cigarette butts in the pavilion, and beer cans and trash in the fire pit. We walked through a few other campsites that had the same issue. The camp hosts at Kit Price were gone every day we were there, and never came by to check on anything.

Beautiful campground on the river! So many cool river sites. So many birds, trees, walks, rocks, fish to look at. Favorite place to go!

Loved our stay here!

We love Kit Price, But with the removal of all the trees you have let all the grasses and weeds grow freely, IN and around all camp sites. The bugs were atrocious because of all the vegetation. We didn't even start a fire for worry of all the 5 foot tall grasses and weeds not 1 1/2 feet from our fire pit would catch fire. I fully believe in nature but I also believe if you have a campground you should control the areas people are paying to camp in.
@RaymondT3B8DB8 · Camped on Jul 10, 2024 at Campsite #B28
Cleanest vault toilets I have ever seen! River access is overgrown and resemble faint game trails in waist high grass. There is not a common access point to the river. Sites not adjacent to the river have to cross through another campsite. Awkward and uncomfortable early in the morning or late evening.
@AllisonB305998 · Camped on Jul 3, 2024 at Campsite #C49
Great site with close access to the river or right off the site was river access down a small but steep bank. Very clean and quiet campground with good space between sites.

There was someone parked in our camp site when we arrived. We went to the camp host for help, but no one would answer the door knock. Returning to our reserved camp site, we asked a fellow camper if he saw the person parked in our spot. He did and said that a lady left the car and headed to the river. He offered to find her and tell her we were waiting for her to move her car. They both returned 15 minutes later. She moved her car off of our camp site and all was well after that. Thanks to the fellow camper.The paved roads, camp site, toilets and camp shelters were all very nice.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
