Beautiful, clean, comfortable and friendly high-altitude campground. Superb trails for all levels of hikers can be reached from Mt Rose Campground. Very convenient location for attending the Shakespeare play at Sand Harbor

Great stay at this favorite campsite. Host is friendly but not obtrusive and does an absolutely fantastic job of keeping the restrooms clean.

Mt. Rose Campground is the best campground I have camped at. Small and quiet and lovely. Host Andrew takes personal pride in his work. The bathrooms are cleaned every morning and he rechecks later in the day to restock. He is personable to talk with and very helpful. The sites are spread out farther than normal campground sites. The sites are paved with cement so no dirt in the shoes or sandals! He works at keeping up with removing any grease stains on the cement or tables. They were remodeled 10 yeasrs ago, but look like new. Big tables, large firepit and a post to put your stove or grill. Only 21 sites plus a few walk-ins. Campground along the Tahoe Rim Trail, so through hikers come in for one night in the walk-in and first come first serve sites. Can't wait to return

From start to finish, our 2-night stay in Mount Rose left us wishing we had stayed the whole week. Its proximity to Lake Tahoe was excellent, it was quiet and held a pleasant crowd who kept to themselves. The grounds were scenic, clean and allowed for some privacy in an open-air setting. The bear boxes were a great touch and the bathrooms were clean and well-kept. The only inconvenience was the lack of showers but it didnt bother us all that much!
