There was a little problem when we arrived, as our reserved site had accidentally been given to someone else. Once that was cleared up, everything was fine. Pit toilets, but kept tidy. Good base for seeing Pictured Rocks and Munising. Nice location on the lake.

Nice large sites that are pretty private. Fairly small park but has a dump station which is nice, since many rustic campgrounds dont have them. Unfortunately people arent very respectful of other campers and are very loud, even very late into the night. If you want somewhere cheap and close to town then this is it, but dont expect it to be peaceful and quiet. It wasnt for us.

Unfortunately, the mosquitos were so bad we had to stay inside our van. We were hoping to sit out and enjoy the evening, and have a fire since we were just there for one night. The campground itself is primitive (only pit toilets) which we knew and were fine with. The actual site (26) was large and private, which was great. The bugs were a bummer.

Enjoyed our stay for the most part. On the plus side, great showers and restrooms. Location was good to access UTV trails. Loved the Lake Superior shoreline. Sites were level and clean. On the minus side, we backed up to a pretty unruly and loud college age group that made noise until 4:30 am one night and then nearly midnight the next. The second night the wind and rain sent them to be quiet earlier but only after another nearby camper went over and yelled at them. It was close to the camp host who did - nothing. Sites were packed in close together.

The campsite was exactly as described. The beach access and old Bay Furnace were very nice. The restrooms were kept clean & surprisingly pleasant-smelling for a pit toilet. I have no complaints!
