We love coming here every summer. Right on the water which is perfect for a good beach day. Roughly 25-35 minutes from a large city area but also not far from places like the falls. Bathrooms are always spotless, and the campground hosts are extremely welcoming.

Everything was very well kept, the bathrooms, the site, and the whole campground in general. Val and Ron are very personable and make you feel welcome. We consider this the best campground in the UP which is why we try to come here at least once a year.

Bay View never disappoints.
Lake Superior beach, quiet campground, large sites all so well maintained but still giving campers a true forest outdoor experience.
Only wish thete was some type of prnalty for no shows who dont have the decency to cancel alloeing someone else the experience. Losing their fee doesnt serm to work so maybe not allowed to book a site for awhile might work .Unfortunate its come to this.

Such a beautiful and peaceful campground. Been coming here since I was a little girl. Hosts Valerie and husband delightful! I will be back as Bay View fills my soul.

The campsites were very large and quite private. We were just 50 or so from the beach so we could hear the waves all night. The toilets were clean and there were bocce balls and other games available to us. It was a great place to stay.

We love this campground! Get a site on the right side, you will have direct access to Lake Superior. We have camped here twice and got 15 both times. Nothing beats falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the water. Bring something to keep bugs away, they can get pretty bad. Clean vault toilets. Games and toys available for kids to borrow.

Everything was great, very clean and beautiful lots right on the water, but for a rustic campground we thought it would have been quieter. It is more like a family park. A lot of noisy kids and many dogs barking all the time. Probably will not come back.

Sites are large and well separated from neighboring sites by trees. Sites are well shaded so having solar panels as I do on my RV may not help much with energy management as there are no hookups. Park is clean and quiet. Hosts Ronnie and Valerie were very friendly and helpful. Port Iroquois Lighthouse is 7 miles away, and a visit to the Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie is less than an hour. This was my 2nd stay at Bay View and I'll be back.

Love this campground! The people that take care of this campground are second to none. It is so clean and peaceful that we come back on a regular basis. Nothing is better than sleeping in a tent listening to Lake Superior all night!!Best campground we have stayed at!!

Bay view is a small, pleasant, primitive campground on the shore of Whitefish Bay. It is conducive to tent and smaller rv style equipment. The campground is very well maintained and monitored by its camp hosts and is within reasonable driving distance of numerous attractions in the Eastern Upper Peninsula including the Soo Locks, Tahquamenon Falls, and Whitefish Point. The beach is reasonably accessible for the fit, though recent high water levels and associated storm erosion has created some problems in that regard. As with anywhere in the Upper Peninsula, insects, biting and otherwise, are ones constant companions during warmer months and should always be expected. Lake Superior is a powerful and volatile entity. Weather systems often bring abrupt, harsh changes within minutes. One should always bear this in mind when camping on its shores. We are accustomed to its vagaries and consider them a welcome challenge. Some probably would not.
