I love Elkmont. I had an excellent campsite. The campground was quiet at night even though it was full. It's a great place to disconnect and unwind.

Nice campground. The recreation.gov website is difficult to use. The toll-free number is almost impossible to use - long wait times, confusing choices. I don't understand why the park rangers can't know the status of available sites. Quite rude volunteer when checking in, but fortunately a more pleasant volunteer helped us navigate the toll-free number.

Enjoyed our stay at the campsite. Location is very convenient. Bathroom is clean. Management is great. Be aware drink, food storage container even toothpaste have to be kept in your car if you camp in a tent . Only con is I didnt like the fact that my site was next to a bathroom. However, it was continent.

The Elkmont campground in Smoky Mountain National Park was even better than our expectations. It was beautifully maintained. The porta-potties were so clean and pleasant. All the campers were so quiet and respectful. The camphosts were wonderful. Tom was the camphost angel who split our firewood so we could cook over a fire. We had brought the heat treated wood, hickory, and it was so hard and the pieces so big that we needed his help!

Lovely as always. Rained during the night, but was pleasant during the day.
