This is an excellent campsite for me. It is one of the sites for those with disabilities. So, it has a nice level and concrete pad for the camper. The rest of the site is built up time white rock to transition from the concrete pad to the tent pad. This site sits across from the bath room making that an easy & quick walk. It has an easy little path down to the water. I typically have trouble staying upright & was truly blessed to be able to reserve this riverside site.

Spring and fall camping every year for 20 years in Elkmont. First wanted to say how thankful I am for the people who volunteer and work for the park. You all are the ones that make the place safe and friendly. The park is beautiful if you just stay within Elkmont with the Little River that runs through out. Theres also many trails like the little river trail and hiking to do within. If you are doing bigger hikes outside, it is a great place to come and relax. Especially after doing Mount Laconte, which was one of my favorites Thanks to all that keep our parks beautiful and safe!

Beautiful and well maintained campground. We stayed for a week and split our stay between 2 waterfront generator sites. Both sites were perfect for an authentic Smokies camping experience. We loved falling asleep listening to the river! So peaceful!! Great "home-base" for exploring nearby hiking trails, Laurel Falls, as well as Kuwohi (Clingmans Dome), Cades Cove and also enjoying DT Gatlinburg. Since this campground does not have a water fill/dump station we utilized the dump station across from Sugarlands Visitor Center- which also has potable water- before heading back up to our campsite. This will definitely be our go-to campground when visiting the Smokies!

Love camping at Elkmont. Its our home away from home! We must really enjoy ourselves when were there because we keep coming back. It is hard to get reservations because it seems someone let the cat out the bag about its relaxed atmosphere & beauty. We stayed in G4 because I have a disability. Lets just say that the ground & I have become really good friends & I need the level site.

This is such a pretty campground. The campsite was excellent, with it's close proximity to the restroom, which was especially helpful for my elderly sister. I appreciate the addition of soap in the restrooms. I still wish they had showers, but we managed. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful especially Denison, the camp-host/ volunteer ranger and his cute little dog, the lady at the camp-store, whose name I did not get and the ranger from New York, with whom I enjoyed conversing. With a beautiful rushing river, hiking trails straight from the campground and interesting historical features, this is a magical place.

Only complaint is the port-a-potty and no hand washing station in the G4 section.

Staff most helpful during the hurricane. Kept us informed.

Good experience overall. From a safety standpoint it would be better to have cellular reception even if you had to go to the checkin station to get it.

Had a wonderful stay at Elkmont Campground. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Clean grounds and washrooms. Proximity to attractions in the park was great, too. Highly recommend for car camping.
