Always a good time. Relaxing, peaceful, accessible. The turkeys were wandering around, which is always amusing.

Where to begin! The rangers and host family were very helpful. The campground was clean and well maintained. The trails were easy to identify and the other campers were very nice. This was our

We love staying in the L-N loop primarily because it is generator free zoned and is much quieter auto traffic-wise. However, this past trip in M03 was very much bothersome due to the Appalachian Clubhouse event on Monday night. The clubhouse is directly across Jake's Creek from M03. There was an event Sunday night, but the distracting music was not too terribly loud. Monday night was a different story: Loud music, to the point we could hear the lyrics to songs even above the creek water noise, which is delightful. The music was played at an unreasonable noise level until around 10:45PM and not what you would want to hear in a National Park setting at that hour of the day. We were offended by the loud music very disappointed. I'd like to offer a suggestion: Restrict the renters of Clubhouse from amplified music. String instruments only, which would be in theme historically with Daisy Town and Appalachian Clubhouse's original uses. Or, at the very least, insert notification in reservation system advising Loop L-N that these sites are in proximity to an event space and potentially may be a source for amplified music.

Elkmont was beautiful as always. It is a quiet campground with only the stream to capture your thoughts. We are looking forward to our next visit.

The Elkmont Campground is very popular and the campground has access to multiple trailheads as well as the ability to travel into the national park without driving through Gatlinburg. The positive notes about the campground are directly tied to the negatives... Because it is so popular the campground is VERY busy and the road out to the other parts of the park is often packed with long lines of traffic during common travel times (think rush hour). Adjust your travel times to very early or very late and you can avoid some of the traffic.

The creek that runs through provides beautiful white noise for sleeping. The sites were tidy and clean. The neighbors were quiet and respectful. There are trails and waterfalls close to the campground. Really recommend.

Loved camping at Elkmont. There were lots of trees, the sites were clean, and it was a great experience. Even the temporary port-a-potties were kept clean and maintained almost daily. The river and streams that run throughout the campground make gor restful sounds. Keep your food, coolers, scented candles, and water in your vehicles when not eating. They enforce this to protect you & the bears!😎

We went to enjoy hearing the river rushing and the wind rustling the leaves...all we heard was the next site camper running his generator for 12 hours nonstop....couldn't take our own firewood but saw many campers with stacks of non treated wood...biting flies and asian beetles were relentless (not the fault of the park service as were the previous 2 complaints )...there are 3 prime river spots in sections M and N which do not show up on the map when making reservations on the website... when I questioned the park ranger I was told that those were for law enforcement... they all remained vacant during our trip...smells of cronyism... please stop generator use as it ruins the outdoor experiences for everyone except the one using it

My husband, son, and myself had a wonderful time camping at Elkmont! I've been here many times in the past with my parents when I was younger, and have many great memories from then, happy to be able to continue to make memories with my own family now. Clean campground, well maintained, bathrooms are clean, camp store is near by and well stocked with firewood. Plenty of trails and other things to do all right there, the ghost town is a fun little day trip with trails also near by it. Highly recommend!

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
