Such a beautiful campground! We loved how our individual campground was set up, even though we had neighbors we felt so secluded. Listening to the sound of the river was the perfect way to fall asleep. Highly recommend and definitely will be returning!

We never knew this camp ground existed until we went to hike to Huskey Branch Falls and as soon as I saw it, I knew we had to have a stay. It was perfect! It is settled in a way that everything is mossy, rivers and streams are cutting throughout the sites; it just allows you to feel like you've truly gotten away. Daisy town is just a walk away too which is a must see.

Elkmont is beautiful and the campsites are much the same as other rec.gov spots in national parks. They seem however to be struggling with staffing - the toilet site closest to our pitch was closed for the season but this wasnt communicated to us at any point. Similarly their ranger programme didnt exist yet for the summer. The lady running the camp store was lovely and very helpful!

I did not enjoy this campsite. I have stayed at Elkmont 3 times, and my other sites were much better. The worst part about this site is the fire pit location.

I had a very peaceful time camping. Very easy to check in and the hosts in the office are very friendly

Our first time experience was nice . Quit and enough room to our spot and still could fit another tent. The view is great and especially the staffs are so friendly.

This campground is amazing! You are right in the middle of the forest and have easy access to hiking trails.

We have been coming for years. Always a great place to get away from the world for a bit and reset in nature. My only issue with this trip was that their was an event that took place in the Appalachian village (sounded like a wedding reception) that was very loud and disruptive until almost 9 pm Wednesday evening. It wasnt communicated too us that this was something we should expect or how long it might take place. Other than that it was the picture of relaxation and fun.

The campground and staff were phenomenal. The location is absolutely beautiful! The camp store had many staples that are easily forgotten on a camping trip! My single complaint is that our gravel tent pad was sloped to one corner and was below the grade of the timbers that surround the pad. This created a nice little pool when it rained. We had a good waterproof tent and no problems but something to be aware of! Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience and we can't wait to come back!

Best memory of the 4 nights stay was all the smiles. Folks were definitely happy to get a break from the pandemic and cabin fever. I did not catch a frown. Folks were outgoing and joking around with strangers. It was a much needed and appreciated relief for all.

The restrooms at Elkmont undergoing a needed fix to the sewage problem turned out to be a minor inconvenience. The porta-potties were kept up. Having a hand washing station next to them was a real benefit. For an evening use of them, one needed a flashlight not just to get to them in darkness but to illuminate the inside to let others know from a distance that they were occupied so they could check out other nearby ones if urgent.

Regarding must-see activities, get to popular spots like the Laurel Falls early since the parking areas fill up quickly, likewise for Cades Cove bicycle rentals, If biking in Cades Cove, be aware that people may be gawking at wildlife that are just off the trail and folks can be blocking your expected path just around the curve: an accident waiting to happen. Take the minimum sight distance curves slowly. This was during a no cars allowed period. The last time I and friends bicycled the loop in 1985 I don't recall seeing as many folks out hiking and biking the loop, so more caution is needed for an enjoyable experience.
