Stayed for 1 night during the synchronous firefly event. It was great! Would totally recommend. I was able to create a notification for any cancellations during the time period I was hoping to go and it took a couple weeks of trying but eventually I was able to get a campsite.

Our campsite was very private. The bathrooms were very clean. It was a great experience overall.

It was very good location during visiting great smoky mountains national park. The rest room was clean. The campground was beautiful surrounding by woods. There are couple beautiful trails nearby. We loved it.

This is a great place to stay for the price. I was taking a weekend backpacking trip and stayed here on a Friday night at a tent site for the low price of $20. There are no showers which wasnt a problem for me since I was going into the backcountry anyways. They do have plenty of clean restrooms and water fountains as well as a dishwashing station connected to the bathrooms. From the campsite you can either walk a mile to the little river or cucumber gap trails or drive less than 5min to get to the trailhead. Staff were very friendly and helpful and checking in and out was a breeze. You do have to make sure you throw away your garbage in the bear resistant trash cans and store all food in your car since your inside the park which is bear country. They do have rv camping spots with generator access so you can have electricity during daylight hours. Overall I had a great time staying at Elkmont campground with it being inside the park and so close to the trailhead. The lack of showers was fine for me since I was going into backcountry and there arent any showers out there but it is something to consider. In the end you cant beat the price and I highly recommend staying here. Its a great way to get out there and explore the beauty of Gods creation who gave his only begotten son Jesus Christ to save us from our sins.

A little slice of heaven! Weve coming to Elkmont every year for the past decade and it never disappoints. The peacefulness of the river, the rain and nature in general is fantastic.

The grounds are beautiful, and clean. It's pretty close to all the popular trail heads. Everyone staying there was nice and respectful. Even a flock of turkeys wanded through.

This campground has good hiking trails. There is a stream running through it which adds to its beauty. The staff are very helpful!!
