Rangers are friendly and helpful. The campground is beautiful as ever. TIP: firewood sold in-town burns much more readily and is more reasonably priced!

Elkmont was an amazing experience. The Park staff and camp hosts were the best! All of the facilities were cleaned and freshened up daily. For those wanting a shower it's not available at this park but, a quick trip to the Gatlinburg Community Center offers great hot showers for $3/person or in our case the attendant let us shower for free. Although Gatlinburg was way to crowded for us we really enjoyed the amenities inside the park. So many beautiful driving trails and the hiking trails are awesome. You won't go wrong with Elkmont Campground as you base camp for all the activities.

Wonderful, knowledgeable staff. If you want tips on the best trails or waterfalls to see, just ask the rangers. They are so helpful and friendly.
The campsites are beautiful, this is my favorite campground in the Smokies.

We accidentally booked in the no generator area so we went completely basic and loved the quiet! For such a huge camping are we were surprised how peaceful it was. Facilities are well maintained, plenty of hiking nearby as well as all of the Smokies at your fingertips. Biggest cautions: make sure to fill up your water tanks at Sugarlands Visitor Center before you go to the camping area and unless you like tacky Vegas style towns with ridiculous traffic stay away from Gatlinburg.

This campground has been a favorite since I was a kid. This trip did not disappoint. We enjoyed the National Park very much. Great way to keep our distance from others!
