Bathrooms were not the cleanest in this half filled campground. Park Staff Volunteers very strict with park rules and enforcing them if rule violations were visible during their 8am to 12pm noon rounds. Pretty much free to do as we wanted after volunteer park staff passed out their yellow warning tickets. The campsite has a nice creek beside it and is a short walk to the river.

Elkmont is the best camping in the GSMNP. The park rangers and campground host are very informative and courteous.

This spot is a bit closer to other campers than I'd like. But we will be back. The site is amazing.

Blown away by the synchronous firefly viewing. We had a fun two-day stay at the Elkmont campground with family. Kids loved the stay and enjoyed the Laurel falls. The only thing we wish could be better is having showers on/near the campgrounds.

Camp site not cleaned. Leaves from last Fall surrounded site, table and 'drive' way. Parking area not distinguishable was covered with rocks and daubery. Due to wood fire restrictions, highly recommend posting and enforcing "NO CHOPPING WOOD" for fires.Liked the seclusion. Great place to camp. Like the auto free bike ride in Cades Cove.

The most beautiful campground, couldn't ask for any better. We were warned before hand there would be no water available in the campground and the bath houses would be closed, portlets are plentiful. Boondocking at its best.

The park rangers were super friendly, and the park was awesome to stay at! The facilities were kept clean, and they had plenty of information available about the areas near the campsite.

I didn’t explore the grounds but from what I could tell it was beautiful. I could hear the water flowing, especially at night time which was very relaxing.

We stayed at K13 and it was a great experience!! We could hear the water from our site, and the birds were singing beautifully in the morning. The trees were tall and gorgeous, and the late check in process was very smooth and easy! We had an awesome time and will definitely come back.

We were not told ahead of time that bathroom facilities were closed. Porta-pots were adequate and very clean but it would have been nice to know before arrival.

Viewing the summer houses being renovated was very interesting and helped us to see the human side of the Park and the people who once called it home.

Best NPS campground Ive been to. The river running through it is immaculate and every campsite is beautiful.

Truly the ideal base camp location while exploring Smokey Mountain National Park. If you visit between the Summer season and the Fall color season, weekdays are quiet and serene and the surrounding trails are nearly deserted. We've been coming back annually for the last 20 years.
