Enjoyed the campground as all people were nice and friendly. Restrooms were clean. Hiking was awesome and the park ranger was helpful

Beautiful area, super friendly staff, adequate facilities. Only recommendations: campground wifi and better mowing of the campsites to reduce the bugs.

Wonderful campground and nature. The access to the hiking is problematic as too many visitors are using their cars on the road that lead to the trailheads. You need to get up very early if you want to drive to the beginning of your hike. Otherwise, the nature is superb and the trails are awesome.

This was my first time to the GSMNP. The older gentleman park Ranger that greeted me at the entrance was very helpful. He made sure I knew where I was going to my site and updated me on the weather (since Hurricane Zeta was rolling thru). My stay was very short so I cant say much except that the camp was well-kept and the staff is very helpful. I look forward to returning at a later time.

Overall good experience. Elkmont is ideally situated in the park, providing the best access to hikes and sights on Newfound Gap Road without getting jammed up in the daily Cades Cove traffic. Even if your camp site is not on the river, there are several nice places to access it. All sites have good pads for tent camping. The only issues with the campground are that there is little vegetation between campsites and that other campers tended to run generators during long stretches of the evenings - not ideal if you are seeking quiet. Note - NO BEAR BOXES.

Great campground and great staff. There was no firewood available at the camp store, so everyone was scrounging for wood. Other than that loved falling asleep to the sound of the river. Very serene camping in GSMNP.
