No synchronous firefly activity as of 22-23 May 2021. Black bear walked through camp section K.

After driving solo for over 15 hours, and resting in between every 4-5 hours, from Austin TX, I arrived late around 2130 (9:30 pm) via Townsend with it's steep winding Road but welcomed a beautiful surprise of sighting a Bobcat along road before reaching campsites A-F where I parked and rested since I couldn't find my campsite K area; still relieved for reaching my journey safely and discovering friendly campers. Following morning I found location of camp office just across where I spent overnight and took my site tag and met one of the camp hosts who helped me find right campsite. Everything went marvelous and so worthwhile being in commune with Nature's wonders and people in the camp. My Adventures included scenic drives to Cades Cove and visiting Gatlinburg and quaint town of Towsend . Learned many things about Greatnesses of Smokey Mountains and ways to preserve it's habitat, minimal impact on it's ecosystem from camping disturbances. Overall, many thanks to All camp Personnel and my fellow neighbors campers; this experience is truly amazing and highly recommended to everyone who has appreciation for Nature's great gift of Life.

The camp ground was quite nice. The toilets could be better but we have seen worse. The camp ground store offered both ice and fire wood along with other items which was good. They are pretty strict about not leaving anything outside your tent or car. Took away my water cooler once. If you like camping, it will be a good location close to Gatlinburg.
