The site was perfect, close to everything yet distant enough to be comfortable.

Campground very poorly kept. No mowing, The entire campground is overgrown with grass turning into Hay. Poison ivy growing everywhere, Improvements that were made to Bathroom floors 2-3 years ago is coming up and loose from wall. Pot hols all throughout that you could loose a tire in. Some of them had large river rocks in them to fill them. We visit every year and Its disheartening to see in this condition.

We loved camping at Elkmont. The only down side are the restrooms. I get it you can’t have showers, but the bathrooms need to be over hauled.

Beautiful campground if you like rustic camping. Large lots, and lots of trees. Super close to Gatlinburg. Pretty centrally located to other attractions such as Clingmans Dome, New found gap, Cades cove. Plenty of areas to walk. Would stay here again. The only down side is its a few miles drive to the dump station.

Getting information about events & programs were hard to get. Had to ask many rangers or go all the way to Sugarland to get info.

Nice campground. Only issue is the public baths near our campground were rather dirty the entire time we were there (3 nights). There was a bear incident while we were there that I think was handled very well by the park rangers. Also, the park did not seem as busy this year, although there were alot of people during the firefly viewing (of course some with no manners shining bright lights as they walked.

We stayed at Elkmount on 7/22/21-7/26/21. We were on site K9. There was enough room for our 32ft Class A and our Honda-CRV and it was very shady. The restrooms were closed and there were only porta potties. Check in was quick and easy. It was pretty hot outside but we ran the generator right before quiet hours started to cool it down and with my battery operated fan I was comfortable sleeping. Make sure to bring a tube or noodle if floating around is on your agenda. We walked up to the ruins of the resort which I found very interesting. Not a difficult walk but uphill. As most reviews saidthere is no cell service at all in the park. If you plan to do Laurel Falls get there early (8:30am) and it is not that busy. I realize camping with no services is not everyones cup of tea but if you know it going in there are no surprises. I would go back and stay there again.

The campground was terrific. The only issue was that the showers weren't available during the time I was there. Would definitely go back to this campground and would give it 5-stars if the showers were operational.
