We really enjoyed our stay the last week of July. We had a site directly on the river, Site J8. It was a perfect location to hear the water all night and easy access to enjoy activities in the water. While the water was, and always is, cold, we still had a blast wading and tubing. We also liked the fact that there was no site to the right of our tent for a good distance which gave more privacy. The walk to the restroom also wasnt too bad. The only wildlife we saw were turkeys and squirrels. We were also surprised at the selection at the camp store for such a small space. The only complaint I had was the bright lights our neighbors to our left had on all night on their camper. Other than that, everything was great.

We love this campground! Wish there were better bathrooms. The prices at the little store are ridiculous now. Also, no perishable items available. But there is no place any more beautiful than here (by the river)!

Centrally located in Smoky mountains. Decent amount of space in each campsite.. Our site was near creek and had great sound to sleep to.

J08 site is a nice site, located right on the Little River. Beautiful and in the GSMNP. As far as the campground which is what we are now reviewing. Campsite has little to no gravel and can get muddy - well very muddy when it rains as it often does in the Smokies. Nearby loop restroom is basic and dated. A Camp sink is located at the restrooms - not clean. Campground setting is beautiful which is what I am sure the NPS is relying on here - everything else seems to be secondary including the campground loop roads not terrible but could use some basic work. The NPS maintenance seems to be very minimal within the campground. Gatlinburg is closest town and about 20-30 minute drive.

Beautiful spot by the Little River. Really shady so beware if the weather turns cooler.

It's our favorite site, we had a great time. Plenty of room and loved the river noise.
