Site was great for our stay. A little tricky to get into, but the camp host is across the street and let us pull into his site to get straight. Peaceful beautiful campground!

We've been camping here for 25 years and we love Elkmont! It's quiet, well maintained and is a great place for some time in nature. The sites are well spaced so that you're able to have a sense of privacy and are not parked right next to other families. Whether you're in a camper or tent Elkmont is the place to be.

It's hard to believe that Elkmont had all its restrooms closed last year for an upgrade in the wastewater treatment and there's still not any form of a dump station like Cades Cove and Smokemont have. Having to drive all the way to Sugarlands Vistors center and dump in a small tight driveway is NOT first class. Not that I believe the NP wants to be first class.

Truly liked Elkmont camp grounds, wonderful trails to walk and hike right there. Wildlife to be seen as we saw many turkeys, a few black bears and the fireflies at night as they were starting to emerge then the butterflies. Just so amazing and beautiful. Love the Smoky mountains. Was a magnificent camping trip. Plan to go back.

The campground is very large with a clean, clear running stream. Sitting out in the evening, we saw many fireflies which were fun to watch. We walked through an abandoned town and saw how people lived years ago.
