We love Elkmont! National Parks foreverrrr! Beautiful large campsites, decent bathrooms, and a gorgeous quiet setting.

Tent camped in Section G and found the area very peaceful and quiet. Regarding phone service or lack thereof, I did discover you can go to the Maloney Point Overlook just past the Laurel Falls Parking area and get a signal (about 3 miles from campground).

It was very nice because the staff was friendly and the air quality was very fresh and clean.

The rules about coolers and camp equipment have become draconian. It makes it impossible to camp and enjoy yourself and follow the rules if using a tent. It sends a clear message of fifth wheel and other campers welcome tents please go away. Since most people from urban areas cant easily store a camper in their yard or apartment, this stinks of exclusion. Tent camping and reasonable cleanliness should be acceptable for camping. I wont be camping in the national park again with my children as a single dad its impossible work to keep up with the rules. The environazis win again.

Elkmont never disappoints. Even when sold out/ max capacity it’s a wonderful campground. Always clean, great staff, quiet hours for us tent campers. You can hear the water from essentially everywhere. Hiking trails within the campground with amazing views/sites. Even Daisy Town is almost completely renovated. I’ll be back every chance I get.

I feel that Elkmont is being let go. Everything looked rundown and dirty. From un-mowed grass to the camp store. I completely understand the use of the porta potty's during renovations by why no vending? I am not sure that I will come back.

Elkmont Campground is one of the most magical places in the Smokies! We have camped there many times and will continue to bring our family there every year! The Little River and hikes along it are amazing! Right next to the campground, sometimes we dont even venture out in our car, there is days of trails right here in Elkmont! Waterfalls, views, wildlife everywhere!
