Very clean and easy to navigate campground in a beautiful location. Lives up perfectly to the legacy of this park. Easy walkable access to many trails for lots of wildlife sightings. Staff was very helpful and friendly! Will 100% be back!

I like elkmont but this time after having reserved a site in loop F, I was to discover after arriving that the bathrooms in loop F would not be open. The least they could have done was to have an advisory online when making the reservation.

Excellent campground. Got very cold at nt without generator usage allowed but managed. Be prepared with xtra comforters. Enjoy the wild turkeys daily. Walk to troll bridge + along river by Spence cabin. Beautiful shots of river to be found. Never know what animals will pop out. Enjoy wilderness.

Elkmont and the greater Smoky Mountains is an amazing place to visit. There are plenty of trails to hike and the scenery is awesome. We woke up to turkey in the campground and we saw a black bear in a tree while on one of the hikes to a waterfall. The people were nice and helpful. Remember to get a parking pass, you will need it if you are planning to do any hiking in the park. They can be picked up a kiosk or at the visitors station. Traffic and parking can be an issue, so get up and get out early. Have patience with the other tourist, some feel entitled and selfish. The fall colors were fantastic and a day trip to Gatlinburg is defiantly recommended. The moonshine sipping tours are whole heartily endorsed by this traveling Texan. There were many trails that started in Elkmont, its a awesome campground and if you can get a site near the river, its worth it. I would like to see the restrooms updated, but the camp store and had anything that I might have forgotten at home. Have fun, enjoy life and talk with your neighbors..

Check in was quick , and the staff was super nice. The campsite was nice and clean. Campers were friendly and observed the rules for quiet hours.
The only negative about our experience for us and the others camping at the end of Loop F was that the restroom was closed, so we all had to take a walk to use the nearest open restroom which became rather inconvenient.

I stayed in site A-14. The site says it's good for trailers up to 27ft. Mine was 23ft and I could not get it level and the fit was pretty tight. The site is beautiful with large boulders, a small creek and trees (good for a hammock!)

My family has been camping at Elkmont camp ground for over 40 years and love it there. It has remained so beautiful because of the care it has been shown by the park staff. We love the hiking trails near the campground along with Cades Cove. We have hiked Abrams Falls many time and love how different it is seeing it in all four seasons. Elkmont is a wonderful quiet place to vacation, but close to many outdoor activities.

The hikes in the GSMNP make the trip special. The waterfall hikes are very rewarding. You get to see places that no else gets to see. Mt LeConte is just so amazing and Cades Cove is a great ride where wildlife can sometimes be seen. Roaring Folk Drive has fantastic overlooks and is very peaceful. Autumn is just gorgeous here. We have been coming to the park for 40 years especially for fall. We have hiked over 250 miles and one of our special places is Chimney Tops picnic area. After our hikes we go to the picnic area eat lunch, read and relax. Then we go back to Elkmont. This is a peaceful, rejuvenating vacation for us. We will keep coming back each year.

We have stayed at Elkmont for many years and have always enjoyed it. This was our 32 anniversary and we where excited to stay. There was a camp ground host that on the first day while we were setting up camp stopped us in mid setup to put our tag on the pole showing our date of departure. this wasn't so bad but was annoying then later that afternoon we were preparing to drive around the park to see how the camp sites had changed since our last stay when she flagged us down to notify us that a camper had said the winds where going to be high, not the weather station another camper. the winds where not high or expected to be per the weather report. We had cooked hotdogs before we left and the fire was completely out as we only used a few 2x4 boards to cook them there were coals smoldering in the fire ring no flames just a few smoldering coals when we returned there was a notice left on the table that we had left an unattended fire and this was a warning. The host couple was the sour spot of our trip. We made jokes about it but we definitely did not enjoy the thought of this couple spying on our every move and looking thru our stuff while we were not there. This couple was overly empowered and seemed to be drunk on this power. This should have been a fun trip but they where a dark cloud on it. Camp ground was great as always but the host was terrible.

Nice and quiet, removed from the craziness of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Rustic and natural!
