We have been camping at Elkmont for more than 30 years. Every year is special. Fishing and floating the river are always fun adventures. We hiked to Alum Cave Bluff and Laurel Falls with the grandkids. Our favorite activity is just sitting by the river reading a book. Elkmont is great!

Elkmont Campground is a uniquely beautiful campground conveniently located outside of Gatlinburg, TN. My family has camped in Elkmont for over 25 years. Many of the campsites are located directly on the riverside and provide great family moments of playing in the creek. The best thing for our family is that there is no cell phone reception in the campground. This provides a wonderful break from the demands of constant connectivity. In case of emergencies, however, cell phone reception is not far away. Families from all over the country have been coming to this campground for decades and their children and grandchildren are following in the tradition. It is easy to see why. Elkmont is truly special.

Great campground. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous, our spot right on the river was amazing. Best sleep we've gotten in a while. But there is absolutely no cell service in the campground, at least not with Verizon. Which can be a benefit. Will definitely visit again.

Great campground! We toured the beautiful park during our stay, but were always content to return to our river-side campsite to relax and tube down the river.

Campground experience was good, although the restrooms were out of order. My complaint is that every night at 10pm, there was at least 1-12 campsite reservation tags still hanging on the wall at the Host office, that means those sites were unclaimed. And the campsite was showing "Full", this problem needs to be addressed. If people do not claim a site, they should not be able to reserve again unless they officially cancelled.

We stayed at three of the smoky national forest campgrounds and this was by far the best for us. Lots of space between campers, we were camped right on the river, and the location is further off the main road than the rest meaning you did not hear any traffic.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
