The rangers were very nice and even marked all available campsites in case there was a water one open. Much nicer than in years past.

Best campground in the Smokies, if you research your campsite. Also has some camp spots too close to the bathrooms if you need.

Very nice camp site. Whole camp ground was huge, so it took a while to find our site. Camp host came around once in the evening and once in the morning. Very friendly!

Love the campground and wonderful to be near the river. The host and rangers are very nice and helpful. Would like to see some of the sites with electric and a dump on site.

Close enough to the river you can hear it at night and it is close to the restroom, but not too close. No one cut through the campsite to get to the restroom, and there is a nicely maintained path at the back of the campsite for people to get to it.

I have trouble sleeping. With the sound of the River, a light rain on the tent, and quiet respectful campers I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in months! The restroom facilities were closed but they had multiple portable toilets and hand washing stations that were so very clean. The only downside is the roads in the campground have many holes. The road could use paving.

Bathrooms closed and port a potty was not clean.

Elkmont was great. Very disappointed in the condition of campground at this time. No bathrooms. Was told the bathrooms would be on functioning in the am and pm but were never open. Even received a message while staying in the campground that bathrooms were open but were not. No camp store. No ice or basic necessities if needed. Require to use a certain firewood but not available in camp store. Must drive 10 miles to pick up supplies in heavy congested area. Elkmont has no recycling locations.

Unfortunately, there were too many people in the park in August. Most popular and accessible trails and waterfalls etc were overcrowded with little to no social distancing or controls in place.Generators should not be allowed in the campsites. If the luxuries of electricity are deemed a necessity while camping, perhaps camping is not for you.
