One of our favorite campgrounds! Always try to stay there at least once or twice a year. However, I wish the Park Service would do something about the reservation system. Every time we go we see prime sites that were supposedly reserved that are sitting there unused. Perhaps charge a large deposit that is refundable only if you show up and check in.

Friendly staff. Campground is very clean and reasonably quiet, even when it's packed

Had an awesome time at Elkmont. While it's one of the largest and most popular campgrounds, the sites are large and you feel like you have plenty of space. The bathrooms were rarely busy since RVs outnumbered tents and those folks just use their own. The roar of the river is relaxing while drowning out most of the campground noise. Great for sleeping.

We love Elkmont. But they have let it go. The weeds in the campsites are above your knees. I understand everyone is cutting back, but this is the worst I have ever seen this campground.

We enjoyed a beautiful spring weekend at Elkmont! We checked in on Friday night and the person doing check-in was so lovely. We had a site on the river and everything was lush and green. Elkmont is the quietest and most natural campground we visit, and that is why we return every spring and fall. This visit was no exception. We enjoyed peaceful morning walks with our dogs, bike rides around the campground, and hikes along the trails within walking distance of the campground. The only negative for this visit was the closure of the restrooms, but we were warned before coming and we managed just fine. We look forward to our next trip in October!

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
