The campgrounds were extremely clean and well kept. Restrooms were spotless. It's quiet, roomy pads that help you feel like you are further away from others than you are .

Nice campground, but the sites are small and very close together. Lots of trees. The night I was there, it was quiet and staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a great time. The few things I will note that probably have very good reason and have been mentioned from other guest. The tent pads are very small and barely fit 1 tent. It is hard to plan for these things when you are working with the tents you have and you are out of town. That being said we made it work. Also, we were confronted a few times about the Eno hammocks on the trees. We had two campsites and 6 adults 2 children. We set up four hammocks. It seemed the rules kept changing and we were left out of options to hang the hammocks. The rules seemed pretty silly seeing we were adults looking to relax under the trees. Other than these two things we had a great time

The Smokey Mountains are beautiful and we enjoyed the trails that are easily accessible at Elkmont Campground. The bathrooms need modernizing. It wasn't even peak season and the roads had too many cars parked along the shoulder which was somewhat hazardous.

Good trip with family enjoying some cooler weather, but could have done without the 2 days of monsoon-like rain! Be careful when making reservations on Recreation.gov. I incorrectly assumed that after requiring details for the type of equipment I would be using, including length of trailer, that the reservation site would omit those sites that would not adequately accommodate my equipment. We were able to make the site work, but lesson learned and I will pay more attention to the details next time.

LOVE the CAMPER sites for TENT lovers; flat and dry better than sloped and rutted.
