Having a campsite right next to the river was so beautiful and peaceful. Despite the fact that the campground was full, it was very quiet. The bathrooms were also very clean. Highly recommend this campground.

Loved this campground and wish we had stayed more than one night. Beautiful creek runs throughout the campground. Check in was easy and staff were very welcoming. I was not expecting flush toilets and the bathroom facilities were very nice and clean. We did have a rainy afternoon so we chose not to hike in the wet weather, but if we visit again we will check out the hikes near the campground. I also think this is a good central location in the park where you can visit either Cades Cove or Kuwohi. Would recommend this campground and would stay here again.

Enjoyed the location of Elkmont within the park. Nice to be next to the river and listen to its soothing sound in the afternoon and evening.

Rained almost entire time. Camping in the rain and thunderstorms at Elkmont is better than being at work.Had site D1. Was terrific. Camp hosts and volunteers were terrific.

The staff at the check in desk were very helpful prior to our trip. They were consistently available by phone. All reservations, and any changes, must be made on line. There is no cell phone coverage in the park, so put your cell phone in airplane mode.

Location was a great central home base for all the hikes we wanted to do - rainbow falls, laurel falls, chimney tops and grotto falls. It was pouring rain the day we wanted to do Abram falls, so just did cades cove. Cucumber gap and little river trail is right on site, as well as the retired cabins which was cool to check out on a rainy day. Didnt catch one fish! Highly recommend the river sites. Only downside is that it gets pretty busy, which is expected from park campgrounds

D 01 was the one of th best campsites we've ever had anywhere. Full shade, spacious, & with its own beach like river access that the kids LOVED. I was worried about noise being in the generator section, but that wasn't an issue at all. The sound of the river drowns out any sounds from other campsites. I was also worried about it being crowded (being the most visited campground in the most visited national park) but it wasn't at all. We were there June 16-21 & there were several sites near us empty the whole week (cancelations?) The sites are large & well spaced. There was very little traffic in camp so it was great for riding bikes. We also loved that the camp store has ice cream available. 10/10 definitely recommend site D 01.

This campground was awesome. With the river running right off the back of the spot, the proximity to the visitors center, not far from great sunrise views and super clean restrooms - this was a perfect spot for our Airstream to land for a few days! Thanks and we hope to be back in the near future.

Loved it! Will definitely be back. I camped there as a solo lady for a night and felt really safe. Such a beautiful place. 10/10

One of, if not the, best campsites we've ever had! We were able to back our camper up on onto our pad with ease and open our back doors to the beautiful river behind us. The spot was spacious, with plenty of room for our children to play, hang hammocks, and enjoy the beauty of nature.
