Me and my son love Elkmont Campground. Good times! Great oldies!

Beautiful campground where almost every site is a top site. The only issue Ive ever had here is being next to campers who do not understand bear safe camping and leave food out overnight.

This campground is very beautiful. The bathrooms were very clean and the ceiling fans were a nice touch too. I've stayed at a lot of campgrounds where the bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. My only complaint and the reason I didn't leave 5 Stars is due to there being no showers. I understand there are places nearby where you can pay to shower, but this campground charges just as much as any other camp sites, if not more and those have showers that are fairly well maintained. Please add showers for your campers! (Also while the campgrounds are pet friendly there are SO many trails in the park that are not dog friendly so there are only two in the area that you can bring your doggos. If it was an option I would leave your dogs at home if you're planning on doing a lot of the bigger hikes.)

Positives include excellent shade, a great campsite, good tree setup, and a tent pad provided. Negatives include lack of showers and expensive campfire wood with small portions. The positives heavily outweigh the negatives. Would really recommend this campground!

True gem to see and be part of the forest. Viewing the fireflies is an experience of a life time.

Very nicely maintained. B site has a nice little creek running across the campsite so you get the sleep to the pleasant sounds of running water. The toilets are closed for maintenance but port-a-potties are well placed and cleaned.we have access to dishwashing station and water spigot. Campstore staff are very helpful and provide with useful tips. We were trying to start a small campfire for the first time and both the staff were very patient and helpful. there are also some basic necessity like match , wood, soda, bug spray and firestarter.
Camp staff are also very helpful.
Welcome addition will be coffee machine.

Arrived to find out the fireflies were still doing there thing. I was so happy about that. the river was very healthy a low roar all night long , very soothing. Bonus: The folks next door played the banjo and sang , campers would hollar out a song and she would go right into it. It was a great night!
