Terrific campground, best in GSMNP. Our site was spacious and nicely separated from others. The tent pad at the back of the site provided a nice patio for our camp chairs. Camp hosts and staff were all great.

Great location in the park. Nice sites. Our kids enjoyed the rock outcropping (sites B 13 and 14). Unfortunately, nearest bathrooms were out of order. Next closest werent too far.

B14 was a good location, near to bathrooms and campground trash bins. Pretty area behind the campsite. There were some nice trails right by the campground. In addition, Elkmont is nice due to being in the middle of the park, so that you can get to many other places without too much driving.

It's a great campground to explore because there is so much history. You can check out a few old cemeteries, an old community, the remains of other houses along with a hotel, and of course a few great trails to hike.

I always loving visiting Elkmont Campground. This year, I brought my brother and sister-in-law. They enjoyed it also.

Well maintained campground with lots of hiking trails close by.

As much as it is Hyped, I was surprised at no water or electric. The grounds were park-like, but sites pretty close together. Don't think I would stay there again, as crowded as it was.

We did not know about the work being done on the wastewater facility during our stay until we arrived! We did not find the portable toilets or the handwashing units disgusting but clean and easily available. The synchronous fireflies had already peaked, however, we saw a pretty good show! There is never a bad trip to the Smokies at Elkmont Campground.

We had a reservation for 3 nights and stayed 2. The camp sites were nice, not too close together. The sound of the nearby creek was pleasant. Due to a sewage project there were only porta potties and they could barely keep up on emptying, as the campground was full. This was partly because only part of the camp sites were open, so more people were in a smaller space. The restrooms were opened a few hours a day early and evening, so running water was available then fir a brief period. Hopefully the project is completed soon.
