The tent pad was large, as was the grill/fire pit, and the driveway was easy to back the car into. Very convenient. We didn't make use of the picnic table as trees nearby were too widely spaced for the tarp shelter (we set up near the trees close by the river bank).
The restrooms were not too far away, though only portable toilets were in use at the time. Generally were kept clean but did find one left in awful state by some other campers.
The convenience store owner was friendly and helpful to make change for the vending machines.
Plenty of walking and hiking trails to use nearby or a short drive away, but the Sugarlands visitor center was too crowded to park and stop by (a testament to how popular the Great Smokies are).
Would definitely come back to use this camping area on future "backyard" trips.
A gem found eastward on Highway 321 in Cosby TN is the Apple Orchard market and restaurant (yum).
The campgrounds are beautiful, and I highly recommend making it up the road to see Historic Elkmont. We also had our first (from a far distance) bear sighting on the Elkmont Nature Trail just across the road, and this was our fifth visit to the park over the past few years.
We cannot wait to camp here again and plan to make it at least a yearly tradition from here on out.
Wish the bathrooms would have been working but the porta potties were clean.
