I always love staying here! The rangers are so kind and welcoming.

Great spots by the river. When camping in April many of the restrooms were closed resulting in lines and sometimes long distances to the restrooms. The walk-in sites sure could use bear proof boxes at each site like Shenandoah NP. Hauling coolers and food supplies back and forth to vehicles several times a day is not fun. Upgrade like Shenandoah and make camping better!

Very nice time.
I was surprised that all of the bathrooms were closed, and port-a-potties were provided instead.

In previous years the bathrooms were open. This year there were only port-a-potties and hand washing stations. I hope the bathrooms are repaired and open next year.

Campsites B2, 3, &4 were unbelievable - a peninsula for our group with creeks on both sides. My son has been camping with me for 7 years and summed it up when he said the beat site we’ve ever had. Bring a hammock - it’s even better.

Our walk-in site was an absolutely beautiful location along the Little River: quiet, secluded, and spacious with the constant rush of water in the background making for an incredibly relaxing two nights. The campground as a whole was only about a third full while we were there, and very peaceful.

Unfortunately, the toilets were all closed for sewage system repairs (it would have been nice if this was posted somewhere accessible in advance of our arrival), but the porta-potties brought in as temporary replacements were fairly decent. The campground concession was also closed (also not advertised as such), which meant we had to spend extra time driving into Gatlinburg to buy wood and extra ice.

Overall, Elkmont was a lovely few nights, and we wouldn't hesitate to return—especially for one of the waterfront sites.
