Great spot. Good people. Probably the worst campsite in campground, but still great.

The campground is very clean and quiet. Site A28 get alot of sun in the afternoon. In the summer I dont think Id like that but the temps were cool so I didnt mind it. Behind the site is the dispursed camping so it felt like nobody was behind us.

We checked in to are camp site and the people across from us when night come they were very disrespectful they were doing drugs and started to cause troble whit us we notify the park host they went to tier camp site and did nothing they left and the people got worse then the park hosts came back then they saw how bad it was getting they called the park rangers police they come and did nothing at all then left 30 minutes later they come back and made them leave later on we font out they were arrested they just didn't won't to show the other campers what was going on the next day the host gave us a hard time and that's when I said enough is enough we was transferred to Smokemont in Cherokee N.C I would not recommend this elkmont to know one they need new people to run it that's kindner and nicer the host and park ranges need to go they got now I won't go back till they get new people to run it and elkmont is very hunted and the daisy town the houses up from the camp ground you can feel the negativity when you visit don't go thierbad bad place to visit.

Great Park - clean facilities. People were very friendly, especially in the office. Wonderful hiking very close to the campground. River sounds were very restful.

Very clean and quiet for the number of people there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would've preferred more privacy between spots but I understand the limitations when so many people want to camp there.

Beautiful campground! They had decent bathrooms very clean but no hot water. Staff were not very helpful when we were having issues with our reservation but we figured it out. The campground itself was just beautiful.

The campground is in a prime location close to great hikes and tourist areas. Very clean and well maintained.

Loved that I was able to enjoy the fireflies by being a camper!

Wish there were showering facilities.

Beautiful area. Has a couple of hikes that you can do from the campsite. Bathrooms are limited and had to wait in line more than once. I was surprised at the number of visitors--the park was packed; traffic terrible--in the middle of March. If I go back, I would pick a site on the outer rim or near the water. No privacy in the center and people walked through my campsite to get to the bathroom.There is no cell service in the camp or within 10 miles or so.

We stayed May 14-16. The website had warned that the bathrooms were having issues but stated that they would be open for a few hours in the morning and evening ( as it still does). Unfortunately , for our entire stay none of the bathrooms were ever open at anytime. Though porta potties were provided, they were only emptied on Sunday morning. Saturday night and Sunday I literally threw up from the overwhelming stinch while trying to use them. We knew coming to to Elkmont that there are no showers but had planned on still being able to freshen up in the bathroom and it was very annoying to not have any access to the sinks. It was also never clearly explained why they were not available .

This was an excellent starting point for me!!!! Just make sure you make a reservation on the other side. Camp was REALLY nice and quiet. I thoroughly enjoyed this one-nighter and would highly recommend reservations ahead of time to ensure the perfect spot.

The campsite was fine. It wasn't right on top of other campers. It had relatively clean bathrooms with flush toilets and there was an outside faucet for water. There were no showers or dish washing stations. The camp store was convenient. You cannot check-in past 5 pm, but there is a park host. If you miss the evening check-in, you must register between 9:00 and 10:00 the next morning. It was safe and comfortable.

We absolutely loved playing in the creek that ran through the campground. The campground was clean and so were the bathrooms. Great stay!

Elkmont Campground was a wonderful experience! I surprised my husband with this trip for his 32nd birthday and we had a great time. Being that it was during the "off season," it was very scarce with minimal sites available. Typically, we would try to snag a walk-in site, but those were not available during our stay there due to the off season. There were no showers, but I knew that going there and that's part of the camping experience. We had a tent only site and we enjoyed it, so we will be back :)

Really great location in between the wilderness aspect of the Smokies and the city of Gatlinburg.

Nice clean campground. Good pads, good facilities, great location. Wish there was cell service, but many would see that as a negative. Great experience, although it was not crowded at all while I was there.
@DavidH4978786 · Camped on Jul 8, 2019 at Campsite #A28
The campground was well kept and clean. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Ive stayed at this campground a few times and its always been great. Close enough to Gatlinburg to go into town but far out enough to enjoy all the park has to offer.
