Love it here. Very close to Gatlinburg and the roads arent difficult to drive if you have no experience driving up mountain roads.

We had a great stay at the Cosby campgrounds. No cell service there which was liberating. I felt like many of the sites were right on top of each other, but aside from that, the grounds were clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were very clean and ratios per site count was great. The trails and creeks were beautiful and the kids also just loved riding their bikes up and down the driveway all day and night. Outside of a few cars coming through pretty quick, most drivers were cautious it felt extremely safe for the kiddos to play. The blue ghost fireflies were out every night and put in an amazing show.
Fantastic Father’s Day weekend.
We will definitely be back again soon!

We really enjoyed our stay at Cosby. During our trip, we stayed at Smokemont and Cosby. Overall, we liked Cosby due to the lack or respect/privacy we saw at Smokemont. Cosby was great because the sites were bigger, cheaper, and much more private. Like MUCH more private. We had trees for our hammocks, and even though we were right next to the bathrooms our site, and most of the other ones, were well covered with trees so we always felt that we had our privacy. The cons of Cosby are mainly the bathrooms--filled with spiders all the time and the floor was very wet--and the location. While we were there, we hiked Ramsey Cascades, went ziplining in Sevierville, and also drove on to Laurel Falls/Gatlinburg. Cosby is barely in the park--and every time you leave the campground you will drive through the town of Cosby, which is nice because you will have service but also not nice because it kind of takes away from the National Park feel. Also, for those looking to stay close the the campground, Cosby is not for you because everything in the park (except for Ramsey) is a DRIVE. Cades Cove was about 90 minutes away, and again that is not driving through the park. However, the prices, amount of people, and the sites were worth it to us--we LOVED our time at Cosby. Also, there is a great river area by the scenic lookout trail to play in right by the campsites, and we also biked down the entry road to play in the river down there but I do not recommend that because it was super tough to bike back to the campground LOL! I also don't recommend hiking the scenic look out trail (very disappointing, could barely see anything) but we did see a timber rattler on the way so keep your eyes out!! :)

This is such a lovely campground surrounded by many trees. The park rangers were very good and came by to talk to us about upcoming bad weather storms. They even jumped our car battery one day. Even with bad weather it was a very good camping trip.

Due to heavy rain just prior to our arrival, the noisy nearby creek was therapeutic all night.
