The campground itself is fantastic, and being off the grid is great. However I do understand about bears and people not paying attention and leaving things around that will make bears less fearful of humans but it was a major inconvenience having to put everything in the car to contain it from the Bears. Was not even allowed to leave out gallon water jugs according to their specifications. According to them you were expected to immediately put everything away once you’re done using it. It was a little over the top so to speak but we played by the rules.

Such a great, quiet campsite in the park, but away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg! Lot of hiking trails from the sites with variety of hiking levels; long hikes, waterfall options, nice stream along the campsite entrance. Plenty of other day hikes within an hour of camp! Reserved our site online and ended up extending it a couple nights, we just didn't want to leave a good time!Plenty of bathrooms through out the site, running water and place to clean dishes. Bear proof garbage bins emptied regularity. Campsite was better than we pictured from the photos online. Each site has their own little area with shade and plenty of trees!Camp host was very friendly when making their routine checks! Got the feeling they genuinely cared about the campers and made an effort to get to know us over the week stay.Hope we could stay for more than a week next time!

We thoroughly enjoyed this campground. Its location isolated it from the big crowds which was nice. The campsites were setup great, although I could see them being a touch close when busy, so dont book right next to someone if other spots are available. The Ranger was great when my fishing partner locked my keys in the car. She helped us get into the vehicle. The fishing wasnt that great, but the hiking was.The bath houses were cleaner and not as aromatic as other more popular campgrounds in the park.We really liked the elevation change through the campground. It helped to break up the feel of being crowded.
