This is my favorite campground in the Smokies bc it is relatively undiscovered. However, it has gone downhill somewhat, which is surprising bc now we all have to pay for parking passes. There is no soap in any of the campground bathrooms which is gross. It looks all the soap dispensers have been removed but never replaced. No paper towels or hand dryers either. Also, now to use the only covered picnic pavilion (immediately outside the campground) when it rains, you have to buy a parking pass. It seems like the campers should be able to use it for free since there are no covered picnic tables inside the campground. Finally, the poison ivy has been allowed to run rampant. The majority of the campsites have poison ivy growing right in them. It would be very easy to get into it in the dark or if you dont know what it looks like. Overall not very well taken care of anymore, and for $30 a night, Im not sure what you are getting honestly.

Cosby is a quiet place. It is seldom crowded but even when it is, it still remains quiet. It is connected by trail to several interesting destinations. The amenities are well cared for. I love it.

Loved the campground. Beautiful setting with the Crosby river running right by camp. Plenty of trailheads start at various areas of the campground as well. While it may be obvious to some, you can’t access the full park from Crosby. You have to leave and go into Gatlinburg. Not a big deal but something to be aware of while planning your trip.
