Nice campground, clean, well maintained, IN THE GREATEST NATIONAL PARK IN THE WORLD.On the reservation site in "Allowable Equipment" it says it is okay for trailer campers, but down in the fine print it says "Site B48 may be reserved for vans or pickup campers only. " When you get there, you find out why. It is on QUITE A SLOPE!Do NOT select this site for a trailer unless you are well versed in and have good chocks!

This is a lovely campground and is really ideal for tent campers. We were camping in a class B RV. We couldn't get level using every block we had. That did not matter too much because we ended up having to cut our trip short due to the special campers which the camp rules and common courtesies did not apply to. Quiet time starts at 10, but 10:30 this loud group of 20+ campers wouldn't even consider turning down the volume. I guess they thought it was strictly their campground, not everyone else's. Shame. So we ended up packing up our stuff and heading to a parking lot for the night. The next morning, we came back and checked out early. I want to try this site again, but not until staffing is increased and the park campgrounds can be patrolled more frequently. It only takes one bad camping group to ruin if for a whole loop.

Cosby Campground provides an opportunity to visit a secluded portion of this gem, Smoky Mountains National Park. The road literally ends at CC so with no through traffic, this is your destination, limiting the crowds. Horse and hiking trails along with the camping are really the only activities here BUT the campground is a beauty! The reservation map is a bit deceiving: the campground has significant elevation changes. The lowest portion of the campground is closest to the entry gate. Each succeeding loop is a higher elevation. This helps add seclusion to each successive level of camping. The fall colors here are spectacular!

Nice campground but not many sites for travel trailers or RV. Mostly tent sites. No electricity or water but many hiking trails. Very peaceful and beautiful scenery.

Parking on the road is not What I call a campsite. Cosby would not be my first choice.
