Awesome spot. Please be aware that it has quite a bit of inclination from rear to front-will be difficult to make travel trailer level unless you are prepared to lower the front end to about 12 inches off the ground. This assumes your in a trailer of about 25ft in length.

A20 was a gorgeous campsite. Easy to back in and setup our pop-up, and a creek right next to the site for the kids to play in. Not crowded next to neighboring campsites. Short walk to the bathrooms.

We spent a week at three different campgrounds while in the national park, and this was our favorite. Quiet, out of the way, what we go camping to find.

Staff was fantastic! Very helpful in finding a spot for our 24' motorhome despite crowds! Weather was perfect. Autumn leaf drop was incredible. Sites are set out fairly well, clean and welcoming.
Our biggest suggestion is to give people the option to print their reservation card for the campsite online so they do not have to deal with standing in line in a pandemic to get the card. We much prefer campgrounds such as Balsam mountain where the tag is already hanging. We realize Elkmont and Cosby may be too large for the staff to hang them each individually so we thought the printing option would be a reasonable alternative.
Same story here as all other GSM campgrounds…. What could be spectacular is ruined by the 10% of people sitting inside RVs while running a generator outside. It absolutely ruins the experience. We left early.
Awesome experience. Clear safety instructions and helpful rangers and volunteers. Spacious sites A19 and A20, but be prepared to get used to walking up and down hills. Other more accessible sites are available. Plenty of hammock trees and good size bathrooms. No showers, but there are grey water sinks for washing dishes at the bathrooms. Dumpster can be loud, but is bear-proof. Very close to trails and hidden natural beauty locations. (Like the creek down the hill behind the amphitheater). We stayed for multiple nights in tents and hammocks with a large group of 7 adults and 3 kids (ages 5-1) and felt like we had plenty of space with 2 sites.
Great trails. Great campsite. We needed to reserve an extra night and there wasn't much information to indicate that this could be done be the phone that was available.
The best kept secret in the Smokies. Beautiful, low key, space between sites, super clean restrooms, easy checkin, and friendly hosts. The best example of low key, low tech, spacious, and beautiful national park environment. Thank you.

Mobile Data Speed Map

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
