Campground was nicer than expected. I thought it would be more crowded.

It was the loudest campground with the most inconsiderable neighborhoods. There were few sites next to us with over 5 tents on each site; 2 cars and rv on one site or 3 cars per site and they were load. They were load all night, driving wrong way of the one way street. One guy took a short cut through the walking pass to save time to get to his site. Rangers did nothing, there is no limit on the number of cars, tents, people per site I guess.

The campground is gorgeous and the ranger was very helpful. Something to be aware of is that when it says "tent" site....it means TENT site as in walk your gear to the pad from the road. This campground quickly became my favorite in the park!!

For visiting during the off-season in April I wasnt expecting it to be so popular. Most people were quiet but there isnt much privacy between sites. Only a handful of RV sites in loop A so hope you dont get next to the generator happy RV campers like we did. Bathrooms are nice and cleaned daily. Showers, ice, and wood can be found at a little store up the road.

Campground was clean, not overly crowded (August visit), easy to find and well signed. I enjoyed my time there.

Facilities were in rough shape; no soap in the restrooms, garbage was overflowing, rangers were almost nonexistent.

Our campsite was great. Lots of space between sites. Bathrooms were spotless. Great time in the GSMNP.

This place is wonderful for so many reasons. It is off the beaten path a little bit, more close to nature, a great home base for hiking, and not overcrowded. We were thankful to be some of the last campers for the season and cannot wait to open the park back up in the spring!

loved camping here...quiet, sites are spacious, close to many tails. esp like the area not as crowded as southern region of park. Highly recommend for primitive campers
