Cosby was very nice, not crowded, sites were very well organized.

Well maintained campground. Lots of scenic hiking trails - views from the mountains were impressive! Only improvement I'd recommend is to add showers. I'll be back!

First, the restroom doors are lacking a hydraulic closer, so every time someone used the restroom, the door made a loud bank when they entered and again when they left. Very annoying at 6:30 in the morning. The campground was half or more empty, I cannot imagine what the sound would have been like if it was full.

Second, there was a guy who was apparently an employee of the campground who pulled up in a ATV and without any introduction started hollering "You cannot do that!" and without any further explanation. I asked him to explain more than once before he told us that one wheel was slightly off the parking strip. I am not arguing that I was wrong, but he should have first introduced himself than explained the problem calmly. I believe his name was Robert.

I will not be returning to this campground again anytime soon.

We stayed 2 nights in our 19 ft camper van - it was great! Pads are level, restrooms clean (although no way to dry hands - no towels or dryers ??). Camp was quiet. Good proximity to hiking trails, we had a splendid day hiking the low gap, great foliage, birds, and stream. Staff was super nice and helpful. Would definitely come again!

The campground was clean and peaceful and quiet. There was tons of space and it was such a beautiful area. I was camping with just my dog and I never felt unsafe. Such a great campsite, I will definitely be returning.

I enjoyed Cosby Campground very much, mainly because of all that is around it and less because of what the campground itself is. Cosby seems to be mostly geared toward tent campers with a few sites sprinkled in that can accommodate small trailers and van campers. The sites are packed in pretty close to one another which, in my mind, is the biggest flaw with Cosby. You are close enough to neighbors to hear everything they say, see everything they do, smell everything they cook, hear every bark, chuff and fart their dog makes, etc. We also had several people, full grown adults who should know better, just walk through the middle of our campsite. Not around the edges of the campsite, right through the middle of it within an arms reach of my wife and I. One woman came back again for a repeat performance within 5 minutes of us asking her not to walk through our campsite. Anyway ... Cosby is cramped, crowded and people nowadays are totally self-centered and disrespectful of others ... but once you get passed that, the trails and sights in Great Smoky Mountains NP outside of Cosby campground are as beautiful as people say and those alone make the trip worthwhile. Our campsite was a level gravel pad and the nearby toilet facilities had running water and flush toilets, but I do not think they were cleaned once during our 4-day stay. There is no Verizon or AT&T service within Cosby Campground, although you can find some pockets of coverage as you hike the trails.

Nice, quiet campground with several streams and hiking trails that can be accessed directly from the campground. The Greenbrier area is a short drive away as well as Big Creek. The RV site that I reserved was reasonably level. Cosby is my favorite campground in the Smokies.

Easy to reach and just as importantly, not busy like the main areas of Smokey Mountains. Beautiful place to hike, camp....there are a few RV spaces with easy in and out. Would go back here.
You can see your neighbors, but they are not so close that it infringes on your privacy.
