The campsite was excellent. The camp host was a great guy who was friendly and knowledgeable. Not our first time staying at Cosby and certainly will not be our last.

Beautiful sites and more peaceful than campgrounds near Gatlinburg.

The ranger was very helpful in getting our campsite changed. Much better than rec.gov who won't let you change once you occupy a site.

Campground well laid out with lots of nice trees. Good hiking trails near the campground. No cell service at camp, but it is available about 2 miles down access road.

Cosby is a very nice campground in a lesser used corner of the the National Park. The sites are spacious and well shaded. Vegetation between sites affords nice privacy. None of the bathhouses have showers, but they were clean and have an outdoor sink for doing dishes. In early June insects were not a problem at all - we were able to sit outside for hours with no bug spray.Good access to hiking trails from the campground- the 6 mile climb to the lookout building at the top of Mount Camerer is a challenging, but beautiful hike (out and back took us about 6 hours).

Each campsite has ample space for a larger group. Some sites are larger than others, and some are less flat so I would definitely call to get some clarification on the best site to choose for your purposes.Comes with a picnic table and fire pit with a grill grate. Each campsite has two parking spaces, but there is plenty of additional parking for addition vehicles near the check-in area. The bathrooms are honestly a heaven send - super clean, super spacious - and this comes from a female someone that would much prefer peeing in the woods than a bug infested port-John. I am a solo female camper and I felt super safe at Cosby. It was always pretty quiet, quiet hours aside. I would say that it was pretty confusing on where to find fire wood because it does say that some camp stores have them but Cosby does not. Also, be aware that most of the Cosby camping area DOES NOT have any cell service. Download what you need and youre good to go! Overall, after seeing other camp sites, I would go back to Cosby every time. I prefer a more quiet, peaceful, un-cluttered, and un-congested camping experience and I definitely got that. Plus, a few trail heads at the campsite was an added bonus.
