It is farther away from the busy, iconic areas of the park, but this is a really nice thing for some peace and quiet. The campsite was flat, well marked, and the ranger who attended us checking in was very kind. Clean bathroom.

Would have been Excellent other than the military fly-overs…they were loud and disruptive! Ive camped at this campground several times over the past 8 years…sometimes multiple times a year and never experienced the flyovers before. Otherwise we love this calm peaceful campground with its manageable hiking trails. Perfect place to camp with kids.

The only complain: the quite hours are not really enforeced by rangers, and sometimes at night it gets too loud to enjoy the nature and peaceful sleep. Being otherwise super polite, we had to shout at our neighbors at 1 o'clock in the morning to make them keep their voices down.
Good job on the bathrooms: at this campground there're actual flashing toilets (not the holes in the ground), lights and running water. Little thing but feels so much better than some other camping spots around the country.

Overall it's a great campground. I love that you can get on a trail almost straight from your campsite. Beautiful forest and streams everywhere.Unfortunately, there is always the camper from hell, the unwanted hair on the soup, that had to bring two untrained Rottweiler and a very loud external generator. They were located by the bathroom, the dogs were chained to trees, so whenever someone walked on the path to the bathroom, the dogs would go nuts barking, followed by the owner's yelling at the dogs on top of his very loud generator. It just amazes me that one person can be allowed to ruin everyone's camping experience with so much noise. Of the 50 or so campers, most were tent campers and everyone had figured out how to enjoy nature peacefully except for that guy. There are KOAs for this type of campers that can't figure out life without a loud generator. My husband has a CPAP and we equipped ourselves with a small 300w solar power bank, no noise needed.I really hope that campsite managers will figure out a way to weed out this kind of noise makers in the future. That's the last thing we wanted to experience after driving 11 hours to get to Cosby.

Great campgrounds in the woods, I'd recommend to anyone who wants a nice quiet spot to camp.
